Bobbie J. Baker
I want to change the prison environment. I need people outside who want to help. I've taken a paralegal course, and written two articles published in prisoner newsletters and I've also gotten print in Popular Science. I'm looking for someone who likes to fight injustice.
In 1994 I graduated high school. A year later I was a back seat driver in a robbery gone wrong. For that year I covered my self-hatred and loneliness with drugs and fake friends. Coming to prison took my crutch and forced me to accept myself and be myself. I wrote short stories in elementary school, and as I grew I wrote songs, poetry, and philosophical ideas about life. I'm a long-letter writer.
I recently got out of Ad.Seg. and I keep to myself in here mostly because in prison you have to wear masks to survive. I need people outside to open up to. I get most of what I need from my family and friends, in prison advocate groups, but I need someone to be close with who has plenty of time and attention to give to me.
