I like to be a quilt by made by ageless hearts to
keep you warm or a vase for a rose that makes
you smile or a friends number you sometimes dial
I like to be the softness of your hands or the
sound of your voice or the road that takes
you home.
I like to be the cool of a summer day, the laughter
when children play or hot water in the bath tub
at the end of your day or feelings you never wash away
I like to be a page out of the Bible or
a prayer for you, but I'm just a poet
that needs you...
