My life is behind these walls. My view is of these bars and with nothing else not even my mind can be free. I am in search of people who will free my mind of this hold, even though my body will remain restrained. I am looking for what is in your heart and soul.
I have been in prison for 10 years, since I was 19 years old. The only "life" that I know has been these four walls. I am in search of people who are interested in long-term friendships and willing to be my eyes and ears to the world. What you may take for granted as just another thing in everyday life may be a new experience to me. I've never seen the shores of Ireland, the towns of Norway, the people of Canada or the sites of Holland or other European countries.
My life is confined behind these walls, but knowing I can free even a part of my mind and soul through your letters would bring an undescribable joy to my life. I've never been a person good with words, I'm a pretty simple man with the thoughts, wants and desires of any other person. I am in search of people who will help me discover the world through them, by their thoughts, wants and desires. I want to share ideas, argue views and build a caring, open and real friendship.
I am interested in the stock market and would like to write someone with that interest also. I would like to write to someone who can speak and write Gaelic (Irish). I would like to write someone who holds a duel U.S./Irish and/or U.S./Canadian citizenship. I would like to correspond with someone who would be my connection to the internet and help me research and print up material (legal, cultural and educational). I would like to hear from people all over the world, even the U.S. Since I am Irish-American I obviously have a special interest in Ireland.
However, my most important interest is in building a friendship. Someone who will allow my mind to escape through their life. Someone who will accept my rough edges. I can only hope that the person reading this now is the one. I am also hoping that someone out there will help me find my sister via the internet or otherwise.
