I miss the bloom of pretty flowers,
Bubble baths instead of showers,
Chinese food so sweet and sour,
Pizza delivery within the hour.
These were the days filled with joy,
When a man looks back on being a boy,
Or adolescent days with some toys,
The kitchen aromas where mom toiled.
I could go on about all this,
Like, lips parting for that special kiss,
Desires causing eyes to mist;
Hearts racing, aflame, engorged in pungent bliss.
Yet, most of all, of all I miss,
I long to give you all I miss.
...for if mere words could somehow express
a captured but tender soul undressed,
stressed and stripped of all but dreams,
pressed to longing through these years
of tears barred and yearning to confess,
not fears, but hope nonetheless,
respite then comes with mental caress,
desire then tamed that much less,
alone no more, how blessed...
...it could be for you and me.
