INTERESTS
* Reading - literature (both modern and classic; American, British, Russian), poetry, plays
* Foreign Languages - For nearly four years I've been teaching myself Castilian (Peninsular Spanish). Once I acquire fluency in this, I plan to learn French.
* Grammar & Writing - Few things pump the bellows to my brain's fire better than the study of the intricate structure and effective use of the written word.
* Teaching - Three times a week I teach phonics to illiterate and semi-literate prisoners.

POST-RELEASE PLANS
Although my maximum "out-date" is in 2015, I can be granted an early release via parole anytime between now and then. Because of the uncertainty of my precise departure date, as yet I have no fixed plans for life beyond bars. However, of at least a few things I am certain:
1.) I will work in the field of language translation/interpretation;
2.) I will further my formal education;
3.) I will get involved regularly in volunteer work for humanitarian causes.

END NOTE
I have NO particular preferences for who wishes to correspond with me. Race, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation - none of these do I regard as a barrier to the process of collaborating to shape and refine a genuine friendship.
