My name is Reid Danell and I'm a 21 year old doing 2 concurrent life sentences in prison. I'm 5'9" tall, 170 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. I enjoy running, lifting weights, poetry, books and all kinds of music. My greatest joy before being incarcerated was the outdoors. I love the fresh air of the mountains, and especially the wildlife. Never have I felt more free than when I was in the wilderness, and I miss it greatly. Most of all though, I like to meet and get to know different people from different places. Getting in touch with and corresponding with people from free society helps to remind me that there's a whole world out there beyond these walls and fences. Also, creating healthy and positive friendships helps me stay healthy and positive in this otherwise negative atmosphere. So, if you're looking for friendship, drop me a line. Tossing and turning I long for a drink
So I can drift into the darkness so deep.
Tears drench my pillow as I think of the lives
That I've taken and destroyed in the name of greed.
Yet still I can't rid myself of this selfish wish:
Is there a chance I will ever be freed?
A pipe dream I know, but still I hope
For another chance at life.
Drowning in self-pity I roll on my side
And pray for an end to this strife.
Suddenly from the darkness comes a great light
And with it, a revelation.
True freedom can only be found from within,
There's no need to create my own hell of eternal damnation.
So I stand up tall and answer the call
The call that comes from within me.
Never again. I say never again
Will I ever wallow in self-pity.
