William Eric Walls
My name's Eric Walls and I am a penitentiary poet. Unpublished and unpaid yet I stand steadfast and optimistic in many ways
.
Unfortunately I've a limited amount of words to use for this ad. However, I want
the readers to understand my liberation's paramount. A bizarre case you'll find
interesting and unjustified. If you're interested in my plight I'll send you a copy
of compilations of facts, evidence, etc. I've compiled for my Legal Web Page
surrounding my case. We've (family) also started a Legal Defence Fund. The address I'll enclose at the conclusion of this letter.
My objective for placing this ad is to prayerfully reach out to sincere pen pals. Not necessarily all gal-pals
who are curious to know as well as to be known.
Pen-pals
to dialogue with without the fear of prejudices. Humor's a plus. Life within this
dismal place can sometimes become extremely gloomy. Laughter is healthy, plus it
requires less facial muscles to smile. My mother used to tell me my smile could light up a dark room. Unfortunately, since my conviction, my once bright smile has grown dim. My sisters have mentioned to me on more than one occasion that I'm a social recluse. So, to prove them wrong, I'm officially submitting this ad searching for possible reclusive pen-pals to share feelings of loneliness and alienation. (Just kidding).
My mother is my foundation preceded only by God. She was the first African American female college student enrolled at Southwest Missouri State, (Springfield, MO). Unfortunately after the admittance office discovered her race, her application for enrollment was rescinded. My grandmother's African American and my grandfather's white thus making her complexion very light. (See Springfield Missouri News Leader: Mary J. Price, first African American student enrolled @ S.W.M.S.) As you can tell, I'm very proud of my mother and her accomplishments.
I enjoy reading, preferably non-fiction and autobiographies. Some books I've read include: George Jackson's "Soledad Brother", "Blood in My Eye", and "The Yard". Assata Shakur's "From Assata"; Marcus Garvey, Jimmy Santiago's "Baca, Bound by Honor". I also enjoy reading poetry by the likes of Niki Giovanni and Maya Angelou.
I'm a culinary artist by trade only. The opportunity to showcase my skills has yet to present itself, but hopefully I soon will. I'd like to own and operate my own restaurant featuring my "specialty". By God's Grace, I pray to also own a landscaping company that will provide free lawn care to senior citizens. I plan to travel abroad and learn about different cultures and how they compare to American culture.
I'm kind hearted almost to a fault. In fact, my sisters have said that if I were a millionaire, I'd be penniless within a year because I'd give it to those in need. Fortunately, my spiritual growth has enabled me to help others in more permanent ways.
Optimistic as always,
William Eric Walls.

Can I be tamed? Can I be mentally trained to love their games?
Can I honesty say, "Some things will never change"?
Can I respect a government? Can I respect the lies they spit?
Can we all agree, they must repent?
Can I hear the echoes of historians' speak?
Can I say that Nat, Malcolm, Marcus, nor Martin was never weak?
Can I say, back in the days we bled together?
Can I say nowadays it's all about one's cheddar?
Can I say Abu Jamal is my brother?
Can I say he was a chosen soldier like many others?
Can I remember the women of the struggle?
Can we all agree they held the fortress down as our beloved brothers?
Can I say I unconditionally love you Angela Davis, Niki Giovanni,
Assanta Shakur?
That last name was liberated, that's one for sure!
Can I say we've become weak?
Can I say the devil's dope has made us meek?
Can I end this piece before too long with a verse I remember about Freedom's Song?
Can we all agree that the strength in unity shares its song about
Freedom's Test that made them strong?
In spite of monsters, guns and chains, the actions that we take
remains. To testify to Liberty if we are worth to join that tree.
Can I, will I till I die?!
The struggle never ends, until True Liberation begins...
